The Brief

This project was created around Fan Expo, a massive pop culture event that brings together fans of comics, anime, games, movies, and more. The goal was to design two posters based on a single big idea. One poster reflects my personal style, and the other is done in the style of an existing genre or aesthetic.

The Big Idea

Fan Expo isn’t just a place to celebrate pop culture, it’s where people become part of it. Fans create art, write stories, cosplay, and build communities around the things they love. They help shape the content, not just consume it. That led to the tagline: “Break the 4th Wall, We Dare You.”

I focused on the idea of the multiverse, since it's such a common theme in comics, sci-fi, and games. It felt like the perfect way to show how Fan Expo brings different fandoms together and invites fans to cross into the worlds they care about.

Personal Style Poster

This poster shows Fan Expo as a kind of portal, with windows into different pop culture worlds. It’s meant to feel inviting and energetic, like you're being pulled in. The tagline becomes a challenge to take part.

Retro Horror Poster

This one was inspired by old horror movies, especially The Ring and Poltergeist, where TVs act like portals between worlds. I liked the idea of something weird and unexpected coming through the screen. It plays with the same concept of breaking the wall between viewer and content, just in a darker, more surreal way.
